Web monitoring, made quiet.

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 23 June 2026

This policy explains what personal data eyerobin collects, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it. We've written it to comply with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, and we've kept it as plain as we can.

1. Who we are (data controller)

eyerobin is operated by eyerobin, and we are the "data controller" for the personal data described here. If you have any questions about this policy or want to exercise your rights, email us at [email protected].

2. The personal data we collect

Account information

  • Your email address
  • Your password (stored only as a salted hash — we can't see it)

Information from using the Service

  • The URLs and pages you choose to monitor, and your settings
  • Your notification preferences and notification history
  • Technical logs such as IP address, browser type, and timestamps (for security, diagnostics, and abuse prevention)

Payment information

  • If you buy a paid plan, our payment provider processes your card details on our behalf. We don't store full card numbers — we only keep limited billing records (such as the plan, amount, and date) needed for accounting.

3. Why we use it, and our lawful basis

Under the UK GDPR we must have a lawful basis for using your personal data. We rely on:

  • Performance of a contract — to create and run your account, deliver the page-change notifications you ask for, and take payment for paid plans.
  • Our legitimate interests — to keep the Service secure, prevent abuse, diagnose problems, and improve how it works. We balance these interests against your rights, and you can object (see section 6).
  • Consent — for optional things like non-essential cookies or any marketing emails. You can withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legal obligation — to keep certain records (for example, for tax) and to respond to valid legal requests.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run eyerobin and act on our instructions — for example:

  • Cloud hosting and infrastructure providers
  • Email delivery providers (for account and notification emails)
  • A payment provider (if you buy a paid plan)

We may also disclose personal data where the law requires it or to protect our rights, and to a successor organisation if our business is transferred. All providers are bound to keep your data secure and use it only for the purposes we set.

5. International transfers

Some of our providers may be based outside the UK. Where we transfer personal data abroad, we make sure it's protected by an appropriate safeguard — UK "adequacy" regulations, the UK-US Data Bridge, or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement — depending on the provider and country involved.

6. Your rights

Under data protection law, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Have inaccurate data corrected
  • Ask us to delete your data ("right to erasure")
  • Restrict how we use your data
  • Receive your data in a portable format ("data portability")
  • Object to processing based on our legitimate interests, and to direct marketing at any time
  • Withdraw any consent you've given, without affecting earlier processing

To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. We'll respond within one month. We don't make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

7. How long we keep it

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data from our active systems, except where we need to keep limited records to meet a legal obligation (such as accounting records) or to resolve disputes. Technical logs are kept for a short period and then deleted or anonymised.

8. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), hashing of passwords, and access controls. No service can be completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to respond quickly if something goes wrong.

9. Cookies

We use a small number of cookies that are strictly necessary to sign you in and keep the Service working (for example, to remember your session and language). We don't use them to track you across other websites. If we ever add non-essential cookies, we'll ask for your consent first.

10. Children

The Service is not directed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has given us their data, please contact us and we'll delete it.

11. Complaints

We'd like the chance to put things right, so please come to us first at [email protected]. You also have the right to complain to the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), at ico.org.uk.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make a significant change, we'll let you know by email or a notice in the app. The "last updated" date above always shows the current version.

13. Contact
